After the closure imposed by the mayor, the Normans pub-brasserie reopens in Ouistreham

After four days of administrative closurethe Normans reopened at Ouistreham (Calvados) Tuesday August 23, 2022. “We are reopening the bar part at noon and the brasserie part this evening”, informs one of the two co-managers William Corbin.
The new pub-brasserie opposite the ferry terminal opened for the first time on August 12. The establishment took over from the La Frégate restaurant on boulevard Charles Poullain.

“No need for a safety commission”

But on Friday August 19, Romain Bail, the mayor of the town, had issued a “closing order after several reports of breaches of the regulations”, he explained on his Facebook page. “If the administrative closure took place, it is by the repeated absence of administrative documents and especially the absence of a safety commission by the firefighters”, affirmed Romain Bail.

“For our establishment, there is no need for a security commission, but an administrative document was missing, we were misinformed and we were not worried”, summarizes William Corbin, who with his partner and co-manager Leila Khedjam offers 150 seats indoors and 60 on the terrace.

Noon to 2 a.m.

Besides the pub, the brasserie has a menu with burgers, fish and chips, salads, pasta, planchas. “Fresh products with homemade fries. »

The Normans with already 6 employees “will hire”. Theme nights are on the program at this pub, which is open every day from noon to 2 am.
