Dieng in Nice is dead

Bamba Dieng from OM in Nice now seems to be definitely dead, even if we must always remain cautious when this soap opera has already had many surprises in store.

After failing the medical examination Thursday evening in the last moments of the transfer window, due to a supposed knee problem, the 22-year-old striker, under contract with OM until 2024, stayed in Nice all Friday, in order to take additional exams.

At the same time, the Gym wanted to lower the price of the Senegalese international (11 caps, 1 goal), while an agreement of €12m plus bonus (OM version) or €12m including bonus (9 +3, Nice version) had already been found between the two clubs.

“There are no more negotiations with Nice”

“There are no more negotiations today with Nice. As soon as he returns, he will have all the rights, like the rest of the players, it will be a sporting decision by the coach, he will decide to make him play matches, or not”, finally replied Pablo Longoria, the president of OM, Friday afternoon at a press conference, thus marking the end of the discussions between the two clubs about the African champion and thus ending the Nice track.

A trend confirmed in particular by Taggat Mercato, very well informed about the news of Senegalese players.

As of Saturday September 3, 2022, Bamba Dieng is therefore still a player under contract with OM. It now remains to be seen whether the main interested party will join another Ligue 1 club as a joker, whether he will leave for one of the markets still open, such as Turkey, or whether he will stay in Marseille, where Igor Tudor, the coach, don’t count on him…
