Since the seizure of power by Elon Musk and his takeover of the Twitter company, employees have had their knees trembling. This is how we can learn that about half of the firm’s staff will lose their jobs, according to internal messages seen by the New York Times and the Washington Post. Even if as always in this kind of situation, the information remains to be taken with tweezers. Musk repeatedly accusing certain media of spreading fake news about him, we should have the end of the story quickly.
Twitter in peril
The billionaire’s first act was to fire then CEO Parag Agrawal and other members of the management team. Then, in an email sent to staff members, Twitter said it had to “go through the difficult process of reducing global workforce on Friday“and that this decision”is unfortunately necessary to ensure the success of the company in the future“.
For the occasion, the offices of Twitter are also closed this Friday and all employees are asked to stay at home and wait for news which should arrive by mailbox. The perverse side of the method consists in sending an e-mail to the personal address of the employees who are going to be made redundant and to send a message to the professional address to those who will be able to continue working for the company.
For its health, Twitter must obviously cut costs and find other ways to meet its needs than via advertisers who seem quite cautious since Musk took power. We obviously hope that as many people as possible can stay with the multinational because this kind of situation must be quite terrible to live with.
