When the richest man in the world responds to the fourth richest man in the world about Tesla, sparks fly.
Elon Musk is currently the richest man in the world. Boss of Tesla and other companies like Space X, the South African-born businessman has just published record profits for his brand of electric vehicles. Bill Gates is currently in fourth place in the ranking of the richest people in the world. And the founder of Microsoft has just sent a message to Elon Musk to offer him to invest with him in actions to fight against climate change.
But Elon Musk answered him curtly in an exchange of messages that he himself authenticated on Twitter. After asking him if he still had half a billion dollars in “short” positions on the Tesla brand (a type of investment which consists of bet on the decline of a company and not its success), Bill Gates answered yes. Elon Musk then retorted that he “couldn’t discuss ecology seriously with someone who has invested heavily against Tesla, the company that is doing the most to fight climate change”.
