The Tesla Semi, which is supposed to revolutionize the world of trucks and transport in 2022, will arrive on the roads by December 2022!
After years of waiting, deliveries of the Tesla Semi should actually start before the very end of the year!
The Tesla Semi finally arrives on our roads before the end of 2022
According to the first information, next December the first vehicles should be delivered to the drinks wholesaler Pepsi.
As a reminder, the Californian business owner, Elon Musk, had already shown prototypes of the 100% electric truck for the first time in 2017. The production version, with its aerodynamic driver’s cabin and his large LED light strips L-shaped, has also been known since 2019.
After many announcements, the project around the truck had slowed down, in favor of the production of batteries for the Model 3 and the Model Y.

A driver-centric ultra-tech truck
The passenger compartment is almost tailor-made for the driver alone. Because yes, behind the wheel is a single seat!
On either side of the central seat, there are two large screens touch on thesquels we must be able to quickly access the navigation system or the fleet management system.
Various assistance systems, such as the famous “autopilot”, keep the Semi at the right speed, in its lane and even autonomously in a convoy.
Also, a multitude of cameras also signal the dangers.

More than 800 kilometers of autonomy?
Regarding the motor/battery couple, two electrical blocks and a huge lithium battery allow the Tesla Semi to reach 500 miles… approximately 805km ! All this, even when fully loaded, i.e. with a total weight of approximately 40 tons…
However, will it be enough to be a real alternative for long journeys? Still, the battery can regain full autonomy in just 30 minutes thanks to a mega-charger.
Finally, the electric truck ofElon Musk impresses with its acceleration values. According to Tesla, the Semi is capable of reaching the 100 km/h without trailer in only 5 seconds. And with more than 36 tons of load, it only takes 15 seconds longer.
Also, the Semi is also capable of climbing slopes of 5% at 105 km/h, which is already difficult for traditional trucks. Conversely, the Semi must be able to recover 98% of the braking energy to recharge its batteries.
Regarding the price, reservations are currently available if you pay an amount of $20,000. For the version with a range of 300 miles (480 km), the base price is displayed at $150,000. For the variant with a range of 500 miles (800 km), it takes $200,000.
