School starts again soon. As the students go back to school, several changes will occur, like every beginning of the month, in the daily life of the French. To help them cope with inflation (6.1% over one year in July, a level not reached since 1985), many measures in favor of purchasing power are maintained or expected this month. We take stock of these boosts put in place by decree or within the framework of the purchasing power law and the amending finance law for 2022, promulgated in mid-August.

Fuel Discounts

The fuel discount, amounting to 18 euro cents per liter since it was introduced by the government on April 1, will be increased to 30 euro cents in September and in October then reduced to 10 cents in November and December, indicates the official Public Life site, in accordance with a decree published in the Official Journal on August 23. In addition, the TotalEnergies group also grants a discount of 20 euro cents per liter of fuel at the pump in September, October and November at all its service stations, then 10 euro cents per liter for the rest of the year. .

TV license

Following its abolition, the contribution to public broadcasting, more commonly known as TV license fee, is no longer collected from this start of the school year. Its amount was 138 euros in metropolitan France and 88 euros in overseas territories. For monthly households, the sums advanced for the 2022 fee will be reimbursed in September (for taxpayers who no longer pay housing tax), in October or deducted (for the 20% of households who still pay part of the housing tax), according to the Public Service.

Restaurant coupon

From 1er september, the ceiling for using restaurant tickets will drop from 19 euros to 25 euros. In addition to this increase in the ceiling, restaurant vouchers can be used to pay for all food shopping until December 31, 2023, directly consumable (sandwiches, salads, fruits and vegetables). or not, until December 31, 2023. On the other hand, the use of restaurant tickets on Sundays and public holidays is no longer possible since July 1, 2022, unless employees are usually required to work on these days. Finally, the maximum amount of the employer’s share of meal vouchers exempt from charges will increase from 5.69 to 5.92 euros from September 1, and the maximum value of the meal voucher giving entitlement to social exemption will increase from 11, 38 euros to 11.84 euros.

Retirement pensions

After an initial indexation to inflation of 1.1% in January, basic retirement and disability pensions, the survivor’s pension, the solidarity allowance for the elderly (Aspa) and the additional allowance for (ASI) will experience a further increase of 4%, i.e. an increase of 5.1% over the whole of 2022. It applies to the pensions of retirees from the private sector, the civil service, special and self-employed, and corresponds to an increase of around 50 euros for an average pension of 1,400 euros. Family allowances and msocial inima
