Finally free, these Beagles run for the first time in the grass (Video)
It is an extremely moving moment that the Beagle Freedom Project shares with us: many years ago, 9 Beagles were released from the Nevada laboratory in which they had been locked up since birth. Coming out of the cages they had never left before, they then discovered that man could be good and gentle.
All have been stripped of the numbered tags they wore on their ears to receive a first name instead. And above all, they took their very first steps in the grass, that of the large garden of a donor, in Las Vegas.

At first fearful, the 9 dogs gradually relax, start running and playing, unaware that it is the first day of the rest of their lives, that they will no longer return to the cages whose doors have finally been opened.
Beagles are among the dogs most often used by research laboratories due to their friendliness and docility. “The research industry claims that they adapt well to life in a cage, and that they are not expensive in food,” explains the association.
