“Keep your dog at home”, says Yves Lampaert angry after his fall

A dog recklessly left by his master on the road caused a fall in the peloton at the start of the stage on Thursday.

First yellow jersey of the Tour de France, Yves Lampaert, gave a rant after getting a huge scare shortly after the start of the 12e stage, Thursday. A dog, left free by his master, ventured onto the road as the peloton passed.

The poor beast, frightened and in panic in the middle of the riders, was fortunately not hit, but it caused the fall of the Belgian rider but also of Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo-Visma) and Kristian Sbaragli (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

The Quick-Step rider finished the stage with a burn on his upper right thigh. On social networks, the former Belgian time trial champion, has also expressed his annoyance at the recklessness of some spectators: “Fall due to a dog in the peloton. Having said this many times before, please keep your dog at home.»
