When he talks about his profession, Sadik Muhaimin’s eyes sparkle. His smile, which he cannot contain, takes shape little by little. “I always wanted to do a job in which I would have a good time. When I welcome a customer to the restaurant, it is as if I received friends at home. I do everything to make the moment magnificent”, sums up the head of rank of The Amaryllis , a one-star restaurant in Saint-Rémy. His boss Cédric Burtin, who came a few minutes later to join the interview, validates the remarks.

“When he arrived, he didn’t speak a word of French but that (he shows the yellow plate from Gault et Millau, editor’s note), it didn’t happen by chance. Sadik has always had that smile. At home, welcoming and sharing are natural,” confides the cook.
