Tadej Pogacar after the 13th stage of the Tour de France: “It was not an easy stage”

Tadej Pogacar (UAE), 12th in the 13th stage and 2nd overall: “It wasn’t an easy stage but I’m happy with my day. It’s hot, it’s the same for everyone. I feel very good, the legs are good. I didn’t spot the last climb (from Saturday’s stage) but seen some videos. We’ll see ! »

Filippo Ganna (Ineos), 6th on the stage: “After (his team-mate Tom) Pidcock’s great victory, we wanted to try the breakaway again and aim for a double. I worked hard to get into the breakaway, unfortunately I didn’t have enough strength at the end. Pedersen had a great day, congratulations to him as he had a great race. When he attacked, I had my hand in my pocket to take a gel, it’s true. But I have to say that even if I had had my hands free, I couldn’t have followed him… I also suffered a bit from the heat. »

Wout van Aert (Jumbo), 7th in the stage and wearing the green jersey: “I wasn’t stressed at the start of the stage but the pace was very fast. I didn’t try to take the breakaway because my legs were still badly affected by the mountain. We didn’t have to bear the brunt of the race. Despite this, it was a difficult day, all the more so with this heat. Fortunately, our team is very well organized and we regularly manage to have cold drinks and ice cream. Tomorrow will certainly also be a day for a breakaway, with a difficult finish. »
