New owner of Twitter since October 27, Elon Musk has announced the launch of a paid monthly subscription for users who wish to have their account certified.
He (already) takes things in hand. Now at the head of the social network Twitter, Elon Musk gives people who wish to have their accounts certified for 8 dollars per month or 8.08 euros.
Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit.
Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.

“The current system of lords and peasants, with those who have the blue tick and those who don’t, is bullshit (sic). Power to the people! Blue for $8 a month,” he said in a tweet.
evolution of an existing service
While Twitter’s Blue subscription service, which allows for a more enjoyable reading mode as well as more editing tools, has been available since last year, the Tesla boss wants to supplement it by giving accounts the possibility eligible to have their accounts verified and certified.
Other advantages are planned: priority appearance of tweets or the possibility of posting videos and longer audio messages. Subscribers will also be exposed to “half the advertising”, according to the billionaire.
The price of the subscription must vary according to the countries.
